Metallica is a band with some songs that lyrically contains a more personal and socially conscious issues. The US Army are using Metallica and Offspring songs in their fight to win the war in Afghanistan. Special Forces are using loud rock music to filter out insurgents in the farming district of Marjah in southern Afghanistan. A member of the US Special Forces said to the Associated Press that : "Taliban hate that music". "Some locals complain about it but it's a way to push them to choose. It's motivating Marines as well." In earlier times before, US Army used songs by Rage Against The Machine and Marilyn Manson to torture terror suspects detained at Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.
Maybe they hate that music but I think some of Afghanistan people love rock and metal music.
